Thank you for expressing your confidence in me by choosing me to be the President of the California Rheumatology Alliance. I want to thank both Drs. Robin Dore and Gary Feldman for their hard work these past six years representing our interests and our patients’ interests in the state of California.
I have been in rheumatology private practice in Covina, California for 16 years. Previously, I served as the president of the Southern California Rheumatology Society, chairman of the Advocacy Committee for the California Rheumatology Alliance, and a clinical associate professor of rheumatology at the University of Southern California. My professional interests, in addition to patient care, include clinical research in SLE, osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, gout, ankylosing spondylitis, psoriatic arthritis and fibromyalgia.
A goal of the California Rheumatology Alliance (CRA) is to advance the practice of rheumatology in the state of California. We represent our physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, and most importantly our patients. Our organization has been working toward this goal on multiple fronts. We are committed to excellence in medical education and advocacy at state and national levels. We also address insurance issues and prior authorization. We are very fortunate to have a dedicated and hard-working staff that help us achieve our goals.
I ask that you take an active part in the CRA by advocating for our patients and our specialty; our board of directors cannot represent you without active involvement on your part. Future newsletters will provide specifics on bills before the California legislature that can affect access to medications for our patients and the burden of prior authorizations. Don’t miss your opportunity to join the CRA network and receive all the benefits that membership has to offer by applying to become a member of the CRA today!
Thank you again for your confidence in me. I look forward to serving you in the next three years to benefit our patients and advance our specialty.
